Crux Technologies, Inc.
Since 1999 -- Long Island, NY, USA
Way back when...
In 1999, Crux Technologies, Inc. was created as a custom programming firm
specializing in desktop software and websites. Crux was founded by John
Famiglietti, who left his job as a database programmer in a large corporation after
recognizing the market for high-quality 3rd party software development.
While Crux thrived at creating software for other businesses, it reinvested resources
to independently develop software of its own.
PC Examiner
Crux created PC Examiner, which was a software module that
could inspect the contents of a PC through a web browser. Although the PC Examiner
project has recently been taken off-line temporarily, Crux is planning a major announcement
regarding this project.
Also, a particularly useful, but small, independently developed side project was released
to the public in 2001. This project was
Font Runner.
Font Runner
Font Runner, a free TrueType font browser, became so popular that Crux happily improved
it and released a second version. The tremendous feedback kept rolling in
compelling Crux to develop the recently-released
Font Runner 3 and
Font Runner Pro 3.
While Font Runner Pro represents Crux’ first foray into the shareware arena,
Font Runner 3 remains completely free. Font Runner 3 retains all the functionality
of Font Runner 2 while enjoying many enhancements and updates that were developed
for Font Runner Pro.
Today and Tomorrow
In addition to ongoing development of Font Runner and PC Examiner, since 2001 Crux
has continued to work, very exclusively, developing custom software for
external organizations.
